Simple Broccoli Pasta!


  • 1 large head of broccoli, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, diced
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 12 ounces of gluten free pasta 
  • 4 Tablespoons nutritional yeast  


  1. Add the chopped broccoli into a pot of salted boiling water, and boil for about 5 minutes.
  2. Take the broccoli out of the water and add into a skillet with the olive oil, salt, garlic and red pepper flakes. Keep the boiled salted water.
  3. Add in a ladle full of the water from the pot and add into the cooking broccoli, turn to medium heat for about 8-10 minutes, until broccoli is soft. Mash the broccoli with a fork to create a sauce.
  4. While the broccoli sauce simmers, cook your pasta according to the package.
  5. Drain the pasta and reserve one cup of the pasta water.
  6. Add the pasta, black pepper, and pasta water into the broccoli sauce.
  7. Let simmer for another minute and mix in 2 Tablespoons of the nutritional yeast.
  8. Once finished, serve and top with the extra 2 Tablespoons of nutritional yeast.
